Marine Alcohol Stove Ceramic Wick Replacement for those No Longer Available (NLA) parts!This item gets 5 stars because it has finally provided a solution for my marine alcohol stove you can't buy a wick for anymore! I have a Kenyon marine stove on our boat and they don't have parts or even manuals for these stoves any longer, yet there are plenty of them out there that still work just fine! Many say go kerosene but I prefer the odorless high heat that denatured alcohol provides.I purchased a small piece of this material and simply cut out the wick shape with some "shop scissors" (those heavy scissors they sell cheap at the auto parts or hardware store you can cut things like thin carpet or thick foams with). The reason it works so well is it is Ceramic Wick material, so it doesn't burn, but burns the alcohol fuel which soaks it, consequently it should last a very long time. I hope this helps someone; we've been on the hunt for a solution to this for some time!

Very deceitful you think your getting a roll of 7"wide x 2 1/2" thick, but all you really get is a tiny piece of wick. I actually bought a 4 foot roll of fire retardant fiber glass insulation from Lowes and it worked just as good for $4.00. Kept the fire going for over 3 hours.

We had some trouble with our ethanol burner when we first got it. It exploded when we lit it and the wick flew out. We tried a few different ways of fueling it without quite getting it right. We bought this wick, shaped is like a "u" and pushed it all the way down into the slot. It works perfectly. We now can safely have a tall flame.

The wick really does seem to make the fuel last longer and burn more evenly. You actually do not get a roll as pictured, it is a 2x7 inch piece that fits in the Moda Flame fireplace. I took off a layer of clothing (ok, had on 3!) while using the Moda Flame during our cold snap, hurrah!

This was a rip off! $40 - are you kidding - picture of item leads you to believe you will get a roll - you get a very small strip that would go in a letter envelope - do not buy this!!!!
