Russell AthleticMen's Basic Cotton T-Shirts

Here is what differentiates these t-shirts from most others in terms of fit:If you lay nike or UA t-shirts flat, the sleeves angle down. This fits well and looks good during normal wear when your arms are down by your side. But for athletic activities where you raise your arms, the entire t-shirt will ride up. If you lay out the Russell t-shirts, the sleeves are closer to 90 degrees with the body, making more of a "T". So during normal wear, the material will be a little bunched up under the arms, and maybe less comfortable. But during athletic activities where you raise your arms, these become more comfortable and fit better. So basically, although Nike and UA are supposed to be more hard-core athletic wear, for basic all cotton shirts, these are more comfortable for athletic activities, while the others are more comfortable as a daily wear.As far as durability, I have a bunch of these shirts (i have the dark colored all-cotton shirts) that I wear for basketball and working out that are now over 2 years old. That is over 100 wash cycles. The color is fading a bit, but they are as strong and durable as the day I bought them. They would be my preferred t-shirts at twice the price, but for their actual price, they are a steal.

I've been a Hanes wearer for life. Tagless, always decent quality, good price. But over the years the shirts have gotten thinner and began to lose their shape around the collar quicker. This time around I thought I'd search for something heavier. In my mind a plain t-shirt that was closer to the quality of a screen printed shirt you might wear out and about on a summer day, but with no printing on it. They were ok at best, and definitely felt chincy. I was particularly disappointed in the Polos because they were so expensive. I knew I would be paying for the brand name, but I hoped in my experiment the extreme premium would still result in a heavier shirt. Wrong. The stitching was a little bit nicer and the collar laid very flat, but still it was like wearing high-end cheesecloth.And then I tried the Russells. My gosh, where have you been all my life? Thick enough to be worn on its own, but not too thick to be worn under another shirt. Absolutely perfect size and cut, and bright color. I'm a happy convert.Thank you Russell.

My husband likes to wear comfortable shirts when he comes home from work and most of his were pretty worn out. He's a big guy and it's hard to find shirts that fit him without paying a lot of money. Basically, he just wanted some plain shirts for relaxing in at home or using for when he does yard work. I searched on here and found these in his size so we ordered one to see how he liked it.This shirt made by Russell is a pretty good quality shirt! It's made of 100% cotton so it's breathable and fairly comfortable. It felt a bit scratchy when we got it but I've washed it several times already and it's softening up nicely. This shirt is made in El Salvador. My husband is a fairly big guy and weighs about 350 pounds. He usually wears a 4XL so we ordered a 4XL in this shirt for him. It fits him very well. If he lifts his arms, his belly shows but this shirt also doesn't have the tall length. The length from the neckline to the bottom of the shirt is 29 inches in the front for the 4XL. I originally got him the navy shirt and he liked it enough that we also bought him the maroon and dark green colors. The only other color in his size was white at the time and I refuse to buy him white since he's also pretty messy.Overall, we are fairly happy with this shirt! My husband says they are comfortable and I feel they wash up nicely. Since they are 100% cotton (not pre-shrunk), they may shrink a bit but we haven't noticed too much shrinking. For the price, we are happy with these shirts and glad we found them! There aren't any pockets on them and they would be great for anyone who wants a basic, plain color shirt!

okay let me start these t-shirts have a lot of mixed reviews... i will clear a few things up in my review these shirts are wonderful 5 stars for the price amazing quality here in Australia i would pay around $20 for the same quality shirt now i am not going to say these are the best shirts ever but as all russell athletic gear. they get the job done and get it done well i ordered 5 shirts in different colours (thats how you spell colour not color.) all my shirts are xl and they fit very well besides the sleeves are a little long. okay they come with a printed on tags at the top of the shirt and the R on the sleeve is printed on all of mine not sown on and have a real tag on the bottom. some sizes are a little tighter than others i wear my shirts every day and they are holding up well not the thickest shirts but not the thinest either just right mine get worn to the gym every day of the week so they get washed a lot and have not shrunk or faded at all. and last but not least all of the colours i got black, blue, red, are 100% cotton and the grey is 50% cotton and 50% polyester the grey size is a little tighter then the rest. well i hope this clears these shirts up a little i recommend these shirts to any one looking for a good training shirt or just a shirt to wear around when out and about.

Immediately taking it out of the package and holding it up, I could see light coming through the T-shirt. Trying one on this was not an extra large like the ones I previously purchased in retail stores. The"R" icon was not on the sleeve as shown in the picture on this site. It is down on the waistband. I sent it back immediately and happy to get my money back.
