I like that this charger has it's own charger built in unlike the USB powered ones that rely on the plug in phone charger. I don't think the phone chargers have sufficient power for these high capacity batteries. I've had two of the usb type ones and they have both failed, also the phone chargers were overheating. This one has performed well so far., It's day one but It feels weighty and well made. The display is really handy showing current state of battery throughout the charging. Very optimistic and happy with my purchase, which is what prompted my 5* review.

I really like this charger. its feel much more professional, substantial and grown up than the cheaper USB-C pwoered NP-F chargers. The preicse LCD charge status also gives you a cleaer idea of battery charge status. It also has a 'low' and slow charging, and rapid charging (to preserve batter life) and the 'high' setting for when you need them charged quicklyGreat product

This is great, feels solid, comes with UK mains lead. Two charge speeds Low or High (suggest leaving on "L" most of time to keep your battery healthy). USB socket for charging other devices, and a jack to use from a car 12V (Doesn't come with a lead though).Despite the description when operating from mains the back light on the screen remains illuminated until both batteries are 100% at which point the back light extinguishes (The LCD still shows the battery status though). This is really handy as you can see at a glance when both batteries are charged.

Charges marginally quicker than similar charges.LCD display gives visual on state of charge.

It charges the NP-970 batteries as expected. I'm happy with the build quality, and it came in handy at the NEC recently, as I used the USB port as a pass-through to charge my phone.

When I first had this charger back in September I was very pleased with it. It did exactly what is was supposed to do. Then, come the start of the year, I began to notice that charge times were dramatically increasing both with old and new batteries. As of today the charge percent readout seems wildly inaccurate. For example batteries on charge seem to stale today at 20% and 40% no matter how long left on for. I then swapped the batteries round and the one that was 40% was now 20% and the 20% was 60%. So no idea if the batteries are actually charging and if they are to what level. So no, I cannot recommend this charger.
