ice and mud with a bad knee.
Bought these for my sister in PA who has to be outside in snow, ice and mud with a bad knee...she is always afraid of falling. She said that these are absolutely amazing. She hasn't slipped once with these on...she feels confident walking in winter now. Only bad thing is she can't walk into the garage to get tools with them on as they don't work well on concrete...my mom was helping her the other day after my sister had knee surgery and my mom put on her boots with these cleats on to take care of her animals for her...my mom loved them as well. They highly recommend these for anyone walking in mud, snow or ice.

Amazing crampons for the price
Used these once so far to walk on Matanuska Glacier in Alaska, and these performed just as well as my friends' $80 REI bought spikes. The only problem is the rubber might be a little loose after walking with them for a while, however that did not interfere with my ability to walk on sheets of PURE ice. Had no problem walking uphill and down hill on the glacier. Will take these anywhere where there is snow or ice.Highly recommend for occasional winter hikes and glacier walks!

but I'm very happy with the fit
I was concerned about the how these would fit my size 13 Danners, but I'm very happy with the fit. These are the XL, and the fit is just right. No problem putting them on either. I was suggest putting these on with the boot off, but I think it wouldn't be too tough to do it with the boot. I haven't used these yet, but decided to make this post, since I'm so impressed with the ft. This is the middle of the Montana hunting season , and I'm looking forward to my next trip out. I'm tired of slipping on the hills I claim, and even in deep snow, these look like I'll have much improved traction. Wayne in Montana.

GREAT PRODUCT OUTDOOR PHOTOGRAPHER APPROVED
These crampons are awesome, I purchased 2 pair different sizes XL & L. The XLARGE fit my heavy insulated with removable liner Columb** size 9 mens boots well, I have no intention of ever removing them so I added a lace to tighten them up slightly after I tested them on the trail. They (without modification) preformed without flaw and did not come off but the heal plate was a little looser than I like hence the modification. The LARGE pair that I purchased fits my 8.5 mens Bat*'s tactical boots like they were made for them, I carry this pair in the bag provided by the manufacture with me whenever I am in the woods, they also work excellent in mud.

Saved My A$$
Saved my ass! I was on the JMT this year in July and was the only one in the group who brought crampons...all were jealous!!! these things rock for the price. Only concern...they grip when you are in patchy snow conditions. I flipped head over heals on my hiking trip because I was on a dry/non-snowy part and hurt my knee. They held up the during my entire trip but the teeth did bend (nothing that a pair of pliers can straighten out). Other than the being careful and bending from walking on non-snow, these are great for the price. The silicon rubber held up, no tearing etc. Would buy them again.

Good Value for the Price
Purchased these for some winter hiking in 2018, however, did not get to use them until May. There was still waist deep snow in most places along the trail in the White Mountains. The crampon fit my size 12 snow boots reasonably well. They gave me good traction going both up and down. The only downside I could see was there was slack in some of the chains at times that would catch on exposed roots around the base of trees. This was probably due to it being a spring hike with some snow melt in the mix that created more exposure than a real hike in the Whites with no melt and more snow on the ground.

Length of boot coverage
I wish they would have stated the length of the coverage by the sets of spikes. I wear a size 11 men's boot and there's 2 1/4 inches between the heel of the boot and the last of the sole spikes, and I ordered 2 sets. To walk safely I have to place my foot totally flat because if I tried to walk normally there's quite a bit of space between the back of the boot and the first spikes. It didn't look anything like that in the ad and they didn't have different sizes listed. These look like they'd fit a medium sized woman's boot and in the ad it does say men's.

work fine, just check the chain links
bought these to bring to a work project -- it has been only one day and they are working okay. The only problem was that some of the chain links were open so I had to close them with a pair a pliers. I ordered the wrong size so I ended up giving them to a coworker that was almost falling with every step, there were times we all wished we had them, so if we are returning I think all of us will be ordering a set.
