Can't see the point really
I thought that if you pop these on, you would be able to pick the pan up. Well you can, if you put them on just before, but you can't leave them on or you will get burnt. Might just as well use an oven glove.

Avoid - Caught fire during standard use.
Avoid. These literally went on fire during normal use! I purchased these as a recommended addition to a round griddle pan. I put them on the handles and put the pan on a standard gas hob. As the pan heated up, these handles actually caught fire from nothing more than the heat of the pan. Completely unsafe!

Thumbs up
Great and fit on other handles for different pots. Remember not to put them on throughout the cooking process as they will also heat up.

How did I manage without these before?
As an aficionado of cast iron pans, who has suffered more than one set of burnt fingers from their very hot handles, I bought these to try and protect my poor digits from more injury. And, they work! No more singed fingers for me ... (well except for the first time I used them without realising I was supposed to attach them to the handles just before I needed to lift the pan from the hob, not put them on at the start of cooking and leave them on throughout it) ... lesson learned! Seriously, these are just perfect for those pans with metal handles, I regularly use mine on both the cast iron pans and the steel ones, and once on a glass pan too. Just perfect!

Integral to the best use of the pot.
As the pot is solid metal it obviously gets very hot in the oven or on the hob. Consequently, the rubber handle covers are very much required. I would even suggest that the manufacturer includes them in the original packaging of the pot.
