Enchanting Shaula Pearl: Joy is for All Souls Paperback – 3 August 2015

I was utterly enchanted reading Enchanting Shaula Pearl. Geila Jones not only tells a factual story of what it took to reinvigorateher rescue dog who was severely abused but she does so in such a poetic way that we are caught up in what was a "magicalmystery" tour of reaching deep into the soul of a traumatized animal through the power of love. "Love." Geila writes, "It is a delicate and soft word on the exhale. It is everything we see and imagine. It is the flesh of angels. It is the deep emerald green of kale. It is the cool, damp earth, drinking rainwater, bursting open dark brown seeds, releasing the rainbow colored dreams of wildflowers . . . more than anything, love is a healing balm."The book, however, is about far more than healing a hurt animal. It is ultimately about finding and embracing our own authentic self. It is impossible to read Geila's words without self-reflection, pondering how much our own behaviors, hang ups, anxieties are the result of damaging and negative messages and actions we have received from the world. Enchanting Shaula Pearl is a celebration of and respect for the uniqueness and preciousness of every living thing.

This is one of the most beautifully written books that I have ever read. Geila combines her love for animals and her spiritual connections into a wonderful book, as she describes her journey of love with her rescue dog, Shaula Pearl, who needed just what her human had to give. I have several books on my night stand that I am currently reading, and I kept picking up this book because I could not wait to read what was coming next. This is a story of how Geila's unconditional love healed the emotional pain of her horribly abused rescue dog, giving her doggy a truly wonderful life. The contrast between Shaula Pearl's old life and her new life with Geila is incredible. It took a unique and loving person to have been able to transform Shaula Pearl's life, and Geila's life was transformed as well. I loved Geila's beautifully descriptive writing style; also, here is a huge spiritual aspect to this story which made this book even more special to me.

Most enchanting book I have ever read. Dogs have always been special creatures to me, but Geila Jones has confirmed this to me tenfold. I was enchanted by this journey and couldn't put it down. She has shown me the magic of love, patience and faith in our relationships with our pets. Thank you so much for this wonderful book. This is what unconditional love looks like.
