Sits steady, works just great
I bought this because I didn't want to figure out how to drill holes for a typical water bottle holder, and I wanted it up front and easy to handle. This works perfectly. It is steady and easy to get the bottle in and out quickly. I read some complaints about the bottle itself but I think this bottle is just fine. It has a clear plastic viewer so you can see how much water's left, which is handy. The spout opens fine although it does require two hands, so I just leave it open while riding. I commute to work by bike 1x a week and some of the roads are pretty rough. This bottle holder sits steady. Installed in about 10 seconds. Love it!

Option to a Hard Frame-mounted Holder
Recommended. I've had this Bushwacker Shasta soft-mounted bottle holder on my bike for about two weeks. While not spiffy looking as a hard-mounted (frame) bottle holder, it's extremely functional and is easy to zip (rip?) on and off -- and I do zip it off my bike when leaving it unattended for long. There's one velcro strap that wraps around the handlebar and another that wraps around the vertical stem tube. The holder secures the included cheapo bottle (shown in the ad photo), and can probably take a wider and/or slightly taller bottle. There's another velcro strap running around the top of the holder's circumference that helps to secure the bottle further. The weight of a filled bottle keeps it in the holder even through curb jumps and across cobblestone surfaces at speed. I can't speak for effectiveness with BMX or hard trail riding.Since this holder is not hard mounted it does flop around a bit but not terrible. I bought a 1" x 18" length of velcro, wrapped it around the holder about halfway down and fixed it to the stem tube. Most of the flopping stopped. Some bike commuters asked if a store-bought espresso cup would fit securely in this holder. If it's the grande size it might be all right but I think still a bit difficult to grab. One idea: cut some sponges into disks and shove them down inside the holder. That will raise the bottom enough so that the cup might be more accessible. But too high up and then you risk the cup tipping over while underway.

Decent for the price
I’ve always had a water bottle holder on my bike, but there wasn’t a good place to attach one on my beach bike when I bought it. I looked on Amazon for alternatives and found this Bushwhacker insulated bike water bottle holder with 20-ounce bottle. The straps have Velcro closures, so it was very easy to attach to my beach bike. I wish the bottle itself was a bit thicker, as the plastic is quite thin. The water will only stay cold if I place several ice cubes in it. I’ve used it for a few years now without any issues. Bottom line, it isn’t perfect, but it does the job.

hitting the floor and knocking the battery out or falling apart after repeated falls when left on the bad after we fell asleep
My wife and I wanted a headboard holder for our Sleep Number bed controls and one that could also hold the TV remote and keep them from falling off the bed, hitting the floor and knocking the battery out or falling apart after repeated falls when left on the bad after we fell asleep. After searching all over the internet and bedding stores, I happen to come across this Shasta Velcro strapped water bottle holder. Since our headboard has holes in it, I decided this would do the trick. I ordered two, discarded the cheap water bottle and used the Velcro straps to it to the headboard. It works great. It has enough room to hold both the Sleep Number control, the TV remote and still room for a 3rd remote if you needed to. The quality is excellent too.

Love it. I've never been able to master (yet) the art of drinking while riding and then getting the bottle back in the cage on my downtube-and with this I don't have to. I can easily drink while riding-without stopping (nice) and just swap out bottles on a long ride.Like others I am not using the plastic bottle that comes w/ the item (I have an endless supply of other bottles to use) LOL But this was a snap to put on my bike (flat bar road bike) and is exactly what someone with my distinctly limited coordination needed to drink w/out having to stop.Once installed, the velcro straps hold it firmly in place-and I rode 46 miles last Saturday with it on both well maintained and bumpy trails and it never budged. VERY secure and worth every cent.

Good price and functional
Keeps water cool lightweight , good price but I think I need a longer neck off the handle bars to get it to stay vertical. Seems to hold bottle tight enough anyway even at an angle. Will still continue to use until I find an alternative because it does what I need it makes sure I have water during my bike rides with carrying a backpack

Recommend buying this for the holder, not the bottle
I got this to attach to my belt while in Africa for a month this summer. I like to be very hands free so thought I'd give this a try. I tested it out the other day while hiking. The holder itself is wonderful. I actually used the bigger/wider vertical loop to go through my belt loop instead of the little flappy one on top and liked this fit much better. It was very snug and didnt flop around at all. That being said, the water bottle it comes with isn't quality. It doesnt have good suction so when you drink, a lot of air comes with it, making the drinking experience the opposite of pleasurable. The velcro strap that secures the water bottle is very nice and allows you to put a variety of bottles in the holder instead of the one it comes with.I highly recommend buying this if you are looking for a good holder. If you are in it for the water bottle, get something else.

Had my doubts, but this is a great case! Does not interfere with the steering and holds the bottle in place with no issues. Would recommend this for moderate trail riding, not sure if would be great for rough terrain. Beauty....
