Very sharp
This is now one of my three go-to knives. Good weight balance, good quality and VERY sharp.

Really fine knife
This knife is very sharp and balanced. Not for ameturs. This knife must be washed by hand, dried and put away quickly. It's beautiful and I love it!

We bought two of these a year and a half ago.Still sharp and still happy we bought them. My mother had used cutco a lot of the time she has been cooking. After a week of using these knives she had to have her own. The handle may let you think it wont fit into the average hand but they sit in hand quite nicely.The blade has been keeping a keen edge with no upkeep but we always hand wash. These are an excellent knife if you don't mind the price.It is honestly a better choice to get a couple paring knives, a chef's knife, and a third all around knife to replace that whole set you might have boughten at one time from Wal-Mart.Let's not forget to mention the lifetime replacement and free sharpening(you pay shipping I think) that Shun offers. I doubt you can go wrong here.One last thing, these are edged asian style and not Western/European style. That gives them a more razor like edge which gives a sharper knife, but it can also be a slight bit easier to dull if you are too uncaring of the blade.

Almost the Perfect Paring Knife
Sharp as all get out, beautiful, light, very smooth cutting.My only complaint is that the blade is just a touch too tall for me.I know it's not cheap, but it really cuts like a dream. No regrets for me!The tip is needle sharp and doesn't need to be. (I will carefully grind the tip off.)This knife does NOT need constant sharpening like my other knives.
