More issues than solutions - Not ready for release yet.
This router is only half baked. It should not be bought or sold until major issues, gaps, and bugs are fixed in the software. The marketing material and the promise of user-device management are very appealing. This could be great if the design were not so flawed. I had hoped to replace a Skydog router with this router to get back the simplicity of managing users (kids) to devices. The big flaws in the design are: 1) Confusing (broken) setup between the app and the web dashboard. After a simple setup on the app other features require the web to setup. When using the web to set things like radio basic settings it says you can't because the app is managing them, but the app has no place to change the settings, so you need to delete all your app data and reinstall to make small changes to the router config. 2) user setup is easy on the app, as is associating devices -- BUT all the setup, user definition, device naming, associations, rules, etc. are stored only on that phone. A second parent cannot control and/or if the phone breaks you have to set it all up again. Also, if you need to make a change (see point one) you need to erase all the data and start over. 3) New device alerts are important to me. I want to know when my kids or their friends add devices to the network. Alerts only worked about 25% of the time for me (sample of 20+ devices). 4) Port forwarding for things like alarms, nest, etc only have one port and doesn't support the second (local) port -- huh? 5) There are more issues, bugs, and annoyances. I spoke to support, but the tech did not know anything. He promised me a call back from a manager that never came. Unfortunately, I am returning this router. With more time, better software/testing, and tweaks in design this could be good someday, but not now.Update: 2/24/17 -- I have traded a dozen emails and phone calls with Amped, since my review. They were quick to respond to a bad review, but not to my original calls or support email. Lacey's note below is off on all points, except one about it being a psuedo-cloud router. I've had numerous exchanges with her to help her understand, but she is in brand marketing and not support. The fundamental flaw in the design of this router stems from having two totally different ways to manage and configure it -- the mobile app for some things in the cloud and the web app for managing other settings directly. There is no other cloud router that I am aware of that breaks the experience this way. It is confusing as a user and it creates confusing messages on both the web configuration and the app config. It turns out this IS a cloud solution that supports multiple devices, but their support people did not know this. The alerts just did not work for me, as I have now explained three times to Amped. I attached over 25 new devices and would only get about 1 in 5 device alerts. New devices, first time, working through the router, but no alerts. Most of my interaction with Amped has been dismissive marketing responses and not real acknowledgement of problems -- like their response here.

Lots of promise but technical difficulties- JUNK
Have been using the unit for about a month and a half. Handles multiple wifi devices nicely, usually. In the last few weeks though, have had to reset the unit about once every 48 hours as it just locks up. This review would be five stars if that wasn't happening. But it is a HUGE pain when this happens if I'm not home as I can't check my wifi security devices until I can get home and reset. The app is okay and all would be great. But at this price I shouldn't have so many bog downs. Our former router cost 69 bucks and had to be reset about once every few months.UPDATED:THIS IS JUNK! DO NOT BUY. IT HAS BEEN PATCHY WITH LOTS OF REBOOTS NEEDED AND NOW IT ONLY WORKS WITH WIRED CONNECTIONS. AVOID THIS, YOU CAN SPEND YOUR MONEY ON A DECENT NETGEAR. THE PARENTAL CONTROLLABILITY WASNT THAT DIVERSE AND DIDNT TAKE INTO ACCOUNT HOUSES WITH A SMART TV THAT NEEDS TO BE CONTROLLABLE AT CERTAIN TIMES. JUNK JUNK JUNK.

Useless with a Roku device
Seemed to work well but does not detect ROKU devices making the product useless. Seemed to be fairly user friendly to set up other than that frustration. Amped Support was useless and not worth the time talking to them as they told me it must be the ROKU devices. The devices did connect to the WiFi and were working correctly, just the router could not detect them on the network. It worked fine with a Firestick and ipads and phones

Doesn't block search content, only url's
does not block internet search content. only blocks websites. for example, if you do a search for porn, some really awful stuff comes up, but if you go to porn.com, it blocks it. Content should also be blocked in searches.

Does not offer credible tech help!
Had it for less than a year and it stopped working. Called the tech support, could not find out what was wrong with it. No help and no interest in helping.I thought it was still under warranty. But they did not have my registration of the product. Don't buy!

Cure woes with Wireless Service, Not so much.
Doesn't seem to work as I expected it to. However, may be my setup that is incorrect. My devices keep going back to my original server. I am unclear as to getting it set up. Would seem as though I need both ATT and ALLY to each have an address. Also stops me from going any sites that have card games, word games and more. Unless I get better information from someone I will be returning it.

Malfunctions!
After some 4 months of use it has started to malfunction almost on a daily basis. Has to be unplugged for 30 seconds and powered up again. Aggravating! Would not buy again.
