A value driven pool pump. Have owned several.
Considering the price of more expensive pumps that have less of a flow rate, this is a good value and I have had several of these pumps. With that being said the last one I had that was identical last somewhere between 5 to 7 years, running outdoors and being exposed to the weather. For a swimming pool pump that cost around 130 up to $180 at the time of purchase, I think that is a reasonable service life when more expensive pumps cost 500 to well over $1000. It does have self priming and will power up, but it is best when primed with water before starting the pump. The install was easy and it came with several different attachment options that made fitting it into my existing system much more manageable

Leaking product
We bought this is April of 2024, installed worked well until we opened back up for this season 2025 and its leaking underneath where the motor part is at, it started out as a small drip now its a steady stream/leak. I have raise the water level in pool atleast every other day due to leak. If you purchase this product please be sure to add the warranty for the extra 20ish dollars cause now we are having to replace it again just a little over 1 year of having installed it. Bummer. We will try and take it apart to see if we can fix it before replacing but that is still a big inconvenience. 06/21/2025 update, the whole motor is burned up so we cant fix it.

Develops a Leak
Bought this item last year and was happy with the ease of installation and the additional suction power I got by going from a 1.0 to 1.5 HP motor. Started fine this year but in a couple of days noticed a leak at the bottom where the motor connects to the rest of the housing. Tightened the 8 bolts with no luck. Went back and read reviews and found a number of people with the the same issue. Searched for repair information or replacement parts such as a gasket but found none. Bought a clear silicon gasket maker and disassembled the motor from the housing. Re-aligned a thin gasket that was there and completely lined the interior lip of the housing and the motor side along the gasket and re-assembled. Waited 4 hours and turned the pump back on. Same leak was there. Not sure where it could be leaking from unless the seal to the motor for the impeller is bad. Do not buy. No support and multiple reports of the same issue.
