The rake does the work
I was very impressed by this rake. The rake itself is light and It does not take great strength to gently rake through the grass with short strokes but it is phenomenal how much dead grass and leaves the rake picks up on each pass. The shape of the tines really cuts down on the amount of pressure I have to apply because the tines do the work. The rake grabs the thatch (and the dead leave from last year that have stuck to the ground) but does not uproot the live grass. I immediately ordered a second rake to give to my son to clean up the yard of his new house.

Works as advertised!
Just got this today and tried it out. Here in NY it's just about time for aerating and overseeding. For such a simple design, this works great! Way better than a normal leaf rake. The curved tones really pulled out thatch without pulling healthy grass. No issues with assembly; very straightforward and took about one minute, so I'm not sure what the other reviews were referencing. Worth it for small areas; a whole lawn would be brutal.

Okay
Does the job but the handle is problematic. Tends to get loose after heavy use and need constant winding as it’s threaded. Thats what you give up by buying a Chinese knockoff

Thatch Rake
The media could not be loaded. When it came to the efficiency with which I was able to clear away old debris and restore a neater appearance to my yard, I believe that it made a good effect. I have a space at home that is about the size of a medium-sized area, and it has patches of grass, a large number of pine needles, and leaves that have fallen from a neighboring group of trees. Despite the fact that it is maintained on a reasonably frequent basis, the accumulation of old grass clippings and other materials might eventually have an overwhelming effect on the lawn. This is precisely the reason why I made the decision to give this thatch rake a try, and I must say that, in general, it proved to be extremely helpful in assisting me in clearing away the undesired material that, if left unchecked, may otherwise suffocate the good grass. When it came to the majority of my yard work, I had previously relied on a regular rake until I started using this tool. The earlier rake, on the other hand, was not meant to dig through deeper layers of remaining grass or to remove thatch that had been embedded in the soil. I had the impression that I was able to scrape the surface more effectively and pull up stuff that had been sticking around for a considerable amount of time when I used the thatch rake. In point of fact, I was taken aback by the quantity of old grass that I was able to clear during the first hour of my labor. Especially when I watered and fertilized it a couple of days later, my grass seemed to be cleaner and more ready to recover from the damage.

I don’t like the handle at all.
Used it for a small patch of lawn. First thing (very first stroke actually lol!) that happened was one of the prongs detached from the head of the rake. The head is made of plastic but pretty stout it seems. The prong wasn’t secured properly behind a pronounced part of the plastic meant for securing the prong well enough. That prong as well as all the others survived the rest of the raking session. The biggest concern I had was the handled, just like everyone else is pointing out in the reviews. It seemed extremely weak when applying above average pressure to dig a little deeper in needed spots. The handle is segmented into four sections. The threading to each connection is extremely poor…indented threads that have rounded edges meant for threading. They are then overlayed with a 2 inch piece of plastic that is straddling the connection point for maximum tightness for the rounded threads. Still not good enough. The handle is a 4 segmented design that has 3 extremely weak points. I trashed it.For the fix, I went Ace and bought a 54” leaf rake with a 15/16” diameter. 15/16 is .9375 thousandths of an inch. I thought it would fit perfectly but my rake handle measured .890” on my calipers. The handle insert on the head of the rake was measuring a true 15/16 so that meant I needed .040” thickness to make a secure fit. One wrap (no overlapping) of gorilla tape did the trick. I then took a 1/8 drill bit to drill a 1/4” deep hole to screw the one piece wooded handle to the head of the rake. Easy fix!

Not high quality
I bought this late last fall but just now tried to screw the handle together and one piece would not stay screwed in.Should have tried it righr away. Too late for a refund. The rake itself seems to work well. The 3 piece handle is not of high quality.

Good rake
Love this rake, it's wide, light, and sturdy. I work less now 😂 with this rake, it picks debris and easy to clean. Also I like the design, the adjustable length of the handle, easy to store too. My lawn is not huge so I complete the job in a few minutes.
