I had an old 10 inch cast iron skillet that I's had for 23 years. I usually used it for cooking things like potatoes and onions, gravy, etc. The only time I used it in the oven was when I cooked cornbread. I got a glass lid just like this (without a steam venting hole at a resale store for 15 cents and it hadn't given me a problem I never used it in the oven. I wanted bought another 10 inch skillet with the two D shaped handles because that is easier to remove from the oven which came with a cast iron lid. My daughter didn't have a cast iron skillet, so I told her I would give her mine, but I was loathe to give the glass lid I've had for so many years. I read the reviews with only a few bad reviews, so I decided to order it. So far, I haven't had a problem and I feel it is a good investment.♥

This is perfect for use with my large frying pan. Works well and can be washed in the dishwasher.

This lid comes without the handle being attached. You have to put it together. Okay, attaching a handle to the top of a lid cannot be very difficult. Right? Wrong. Inside the package is a clear baggie containing many little parts--some of which I have never seen before. The package contains NO instructions. Also, you will need a Phillips screwdriver to use to attach the handle to the lid. I did get it together but was unable to figure it out without instructions. So here is what I did. I went to the Amazon website and reviewed the pictures of this lid and parts. One of these pictures shows how the parts go together. I followed that diagram on the website and got the handle attached. It was not easy for me even when I found out how to place the parts because I am an elderly woman with weak hands and osteoarthritis and have never in my long lifetime put anything together before--not even a jigsaw puzzle. Using my Phillips screwdriver was a challenge for me because I had to tighten the screws really tight to secure the handle to the lid. The lid did fit my skillet. I placed the lid on the skillet before attaching the handle to be sure it would fit. I would have been very mad had I gone to all of the inconvenience and trouble of attaching that handle and then discovered that it would not fit the skillet. Then in order to return it, I would have had to undo everything I had done so I could place all of the little parts back into the baggie. Also know that there are twice as many parts as you need, unless you are going to assemble two lids with handles. The manufacturer should have attached the lids to the handles before selling them to customers, many of whom are going to be unable to attach those handles and will just give up and return the item for a refund. Also, you need to know that the parts included with this lid DO NOT include a Phillips Screwdriver, which you will have to buy or borrow if you do not already own one.

This is not a perfect fit for my 10” skillet, however it does the job well. Certainly worth the price I paid. Having bought the skillet and the lid separately I am satisfied with the results.

It's the perfect size. Fills the gap in my life sizes. I am able to get more use out of my all-clad pan.
