We use this for our hermit crabs. We use 3 bricks for our 25.5 gallon tank and it leaves us with about 6-7” deep of substrate. It smells like crapBut the hermits very much enjoy it and it lasts a long time. Does well with the humidity levels and is light and fluffy when you mix it 5:1 with play sand. Good product!

My tortoise loves it. Usually I use eco earth but after using this..I think I will switch to this kind from now on. It's very soft and not like eco earth there's always sticks and big pieces of stuff in it. This cost a little more but it is worth it. Great quality. Highly recommended.

The media could not be loaded. This item came hard like a yoga block, but within 5 munutes in water — it puffed up! The image shows one block, I didn't even use the 2nd one. I'm mixing this with a moss product too.No strong aroma, no complaints, I'm a happy customer. I have plenty left-over for the next cleaning, and didn't even have to open the 2nd package.

Looks and feels great however OH MY GOD the 10lbs brick took forever to hydrate and break down.

Been using this since Oct 2023 for my red foot tortoise. I take a 5 gallon bucket, add 14 cups of water, then add one brick (1.4 lb). Let it soak for 30 min then mix up by hand, breaking larger chunks. Don't use until it is fairly dry or it will get all over your tort, it's water dish, etc. Hope that helps.
