These are definitely made of plastic and not leather. They look and feel very cheap. The foil liner is very thin and almost certainly not fireproof, so make sure to fully extinguish the cigarette before putting it in the pouch.I paid $8 for two and think they're worth about half of that.

Bought these for my hubbie who is a smoker. Now no longer needs to search for an outside ashtray. Great little things.

I confess to being pretty sceptical about these, but after the lid snapped off my metal pocket ashtray, thought I'd give them a try. well, they're pretty wonderful actually. they have a fireproof lining thing and they hold loads. look good too. I'm unexpectedly impressed :)

I’ll be honest – I don’t smoke, but these pouches are useful for other things as well as for ashtrays. One thing I am required to use is hearing aids, and when you get them they come with a little pouch that keeps them safe when you are not using them – for me typically when exercising, walking the dogs, swimming or sleeping. The old pouch does gradually suffer from earwax deposits no matter how hard I’ve tried cleaning the hearing aids before I put them in. When these leather pouches became available I recognised a suitable replacement immediately – and they are absolutely perfect for the job. I use one pouch for the hearing aids and the other to keep spare batteries in to change if I am out and about and the charge dissipates.They came in a small pack – just the pouches and a small note – no extra frills or packaging - a good thing! The pouches are made of a decent feeling soft leather and the press stud has a solid feeling click when closed and does not open whilst being used in transit. The stitching is OK for the most part but I did have a loose thread on the brown pouch where it looks as it stitching was stopped and restarted and it does cut a little close to the edge in places. That aside however I am well pleased with these pouches – perhaps I am not using them the way they were intended, but that just shows they have versatility if you have a job they can do, at under £9 they are decent value as intended.

It means I can have a cigarette without having to worry about littering or causing offence to non smokers
