Too big for my dog but nice quality

I purchased these for hiking so our dog would not cut or bruise her paws on the trails. They went on and secured easily and the fit seemed to run according to the size chart offered by the company. It took her a bit to learn to walk in them (kind of spastic at first), but she didn’t dislike them. She wore them around the house and yard off and on before leaving on our trip. On the first day of hiking, she seemed to be moving well in the shoes, but we still decided to stop and check her paws at about the half mile mark. I was so upset to see that the mesh had rubbed the skin off her paws. I cannot even imagine what she would have experienced if we had continued further into the hike before checking! These shoes had so many great reviews, but I assume they must all be for the fleece lined version. I purchased the breathable, mesh version for hiking during the heat of summer, and they were not safe shoes for dogs. I included pictures of our dog’s paws the day after the hike that was cut short so we could get home and clean her paws and apply antibacterial salve. She got to hang out in the air conditioning during the rest of the trip, which was a let down for her because she LOVES being outdoors. Please use caution if you purchase these for your dog.

The media could not be loaded. The QUMY pet mesh dog boots fit my dog perfectly. She is a mix of mini and toy Australian Shepherd. She stands 13” at the shoulder and weighs 22 pounds. When she is standing up and I wrap a measuring tape over the tops of her feet, they measure exactly 3”, both back and front. When I mark the widths of both her front and back feet, they both measure 1 3/4” I ordered the size 1 boots. The Velcro straps make it so easy to get the boots tight enough to prevent slippage.

Size one fit my regular sized boston terrier perfectly. We call them her treat shoes because every time she puts them on she get treats. They look like they will be great for what we needed them for which is for going on the boat without burning her feet on the dock or putting her claws through the vinyl. However we did let her wear them outside for about ten minutes and they were already showing some considerable wear, so I don't think they would hold up for long walks. And there is one major problem, at least for our dog, and that is that her dew claw got caught in those ten minutes in the backyard, so when we took them off it was very red. I ordered some self-adhesive bandage wrap for next time and plan to tape around the dew claw first before putting the shoes on. Hoping that fixes the problem.
