This is the third one I have owned and by far the best.

Works as advertised and was on time. Good product.

I have only had this detector for a week and have already found three quarters in my back yard! Not to mention the obligatory pull tabs and nails. I am brand new to metal detecting, but I have done months of research and watched a ton of YouTube videos before deciding on the AT Pro. Watching videos featuring the AT Pro really helped in making the sounds you hear make sense. The only thing that I have found with mine is that every hit registered the targets as 8" and 10+", yet when I finally located what I was searching for, they were in the plug only an inch or two (thank goodness for the pin pointer!). This could very well be with me and my learning curve. I am planning a beach hunt in a week or two, so I will update if this clears up, or I get smarter with the detector.Update: So, after two months, I am learning the AT Pro. Things still ring up deep, but noticed that the pin point function narrows it down to the proper depth. I am having trouble with ground balancing in wet sand at the beach. No matter what I do the machine is very noisy. Maybe it is just Southern Oregon beaches being very mineralized? Dry sand is just fine, unless there is wet sand below the surface. I did find a coin spill at Harris Beach at least!

Great for beginners or pro. Takes time getting use too but the more you use it the better you get.

I did some research on this metal detector n many people said good things about it, so i bought itI used it about 4 times n so far is seems real good, it found a small bee bee n a 22 rifle shell, these were really small n it found themI read some reveiews on different sellers of this model n some people said it seemed they got a used item, i thought the same thing when i got mine cause of the package, the package wasnt sealed n looked like it was opened up a few times, also the things inside seemed like maybe someone else bought it n returned itI message the seller about it n he said garret dont seal the box n that is the way it comes n that the hardware should be in a sealed bagMost my hardware was in the sealed bag except 2 washers which were already on the coil bracket part, so i guess this is just the way this product comes at times, but usually when i buy brand new stuff it somes in a sealed box n everything inside package in brand new form n you can tell it was never opened n usedNothing seemed to be scratched up so it seemed like brand newI was expecting a bigger longer box but it came in a smaller square box n you got to put it together, it is easy to put together n easy to use after you read the instructuons, make sure to ground balance each time before useAlso it has a pin pointer mode once you find something, you hold the pp button down until it pin points itMake sure to go over spots 2 or 3 times swinging itAlso i would get a pick, a small shovel, n other things like a small pin pointer, cause it will make it easier for youI got mine to find meteorites mainly n seems to pick up iron good, but i will also be looking for gold

Well I'm am very happy with this detector for the following reasons. It can be disassembled if traveling, the shaft is also adjustable to your height, it can be used in the water up to 10 feet deep, it comes with headphones that attach to the detector, there is a coil cover that can be placed on the coil to keep it from getting scratches, it has several different settings that help you depending where you’re detecting and it is lightweight .

I love it! I am new to metal detecting and not very patient or good about reading lengthy instructions. previously my perception of testing and balancing the detector before being able to effectively use it, prevented me from buying earlier in my life...But the ease and speed of the step by step instructional dvd, had me on the beach successfully identifying hits, had me kicking myself for waiting so long to start!!! I am very pleased with my Garrett AT Pro and give it my highest recommendation to anyone on the fence about making the investment.I do wish the package I bought had come with a carrying case. I purchased separately the Garrett acp camo carrying case, but admit, I am a little confused at how best to put my AT Pro into it. I have never seen a carry case that has the zipper on the opposite side of the carry handles and feel the addition of an adjustable hook and loop (velcro) strap system inside would help secure your AT pro in the excessive space within. this would allow for more efficient use of the external pouches which seem to be non specific to detecting and leftover design as a gun case. I think there is an opportunity for a universal hook and loop system. It would allow for customization to house everything in this and several other Garrett packages additional Garrett items for a beginner to aspire to owning, such as the different Garrett coils, headphones, shovels, picks and/or Pin Pointers.
