Review for Southern Louisiana Fire Ants
Within 10 seconds of putting the bait down (I had a trail of fire ants in my house (yikes!) an ant picked up a granule. They didn't "swarm" the bait, but I did notice over the ensuing days, the little pile of granules getting smaller and smaller. It took a solid week, but eventually the ants went away, AND all the ant hills in my front yard died about a week later, too. So....apparently, they brought the bait from inside my house, to the piles outside, which were all one big colony. For good measure, I sprinkled my front and back yard lightly with the granules. My cat was absolutely repelled by the odor, (though it has no discernable smell to my nose) so safe around cats. Birds apparently dislike it as much as cats. I usually throw birdseed down in my backyard to feed the Cardinals, but after applying the Advion, the birds wouldn't go anywhere near the seed. I bought a bird feeder hung from a tree, and they eat that with gusto. So, it appears that cats and birds are repelled by Advion which is a very good thing! I tested it on my neighbor's dog, just holding the lid about 3 feet from her nose, caused her to retreat in fear. Still, keep out of reach of pets, just to be safe, and away from children of course.I bought these refillable ant bait stations, and put them at inaccessible locations around my house. If ever a red fire ant decides to go scouting for food, it will alert the whole colony to those baits. My verdict, this is BY FAR, the best fire ant poison on the market. The ants love it, and it takes about a week to kill the ants, that long delay allows the poison to be spread deep within the colony. It's not a quick fix, it's PERMANENT fix!

Best success with field ants
I found this to be the most effective deterrent to field ants that build mound colonies that can also go 2-3 ft underground. Other attempts with diatomaceous earth or borax and sugar would diminish the ant colony but the ants would soon be back. This product does not completely destroy the colony, but it certainly impedes it. I have no dogs or children.

Godsend for Crazy Ants, and read my advice!
First, it's not fresh. Package is already 2 years old when you get it, and it has a limited shelf life. But it works. Anyway, beware if your yard and home is invaded by tiny raspberry or darker-colored Crazy Ants. They are recognized by their zig-zaggy foraging and scouting movement. They find the tiniest opening in our brick home mortar and make nests, and scouts end up inside the house. What's worse is that if a colony suffers the loss of the queen, any one of them, male or female, can biologically morph into a queen. In addition, regarding baits, they go through different cycles in which the seek either sweet food or proteins. And you don't know when they do so. They have been a nightmare for us for well over a decade. Big box store bait brands did not work. So I've been spraying their columns for all this time on a nearly daily schedule (I'm retired) with pesticides and doing a lot of damage to their numbers. Yet it takes only one to survive. I finally bought Advion bait, spread a little around their path, and within literally minutes, I saw one carrying a granule up the brick wall. In addition, I found they cannot stand Permethrin powder. It repels them. I will seek it in a spray solution and soak my brick walls and perimeter soil after seeing what Advion does first.

Works Pretty Well for Infestations
I purchased this product recently after a recommendation from an employee at Lowe's and I am pretty satisfied with the results. My Aunt's home has a pretty bad roach infestation and I have been steadily trying to assist her with remedying that whole situation. This seems to have put a major dent in their colony although, they are not completely gone. Initially, I thought it was working pretty well. When I went back to check her home the next day after I applied the initial applicatoin, I noticed a bunch of them dead on the floor. I went back every day and kept finding more here and there. I also was using the gel bait at the same time to make sure I killed these nasty little things. Well, it's been a month and she still has roaches. This does work but it's not strong enough for a really bad infestation in my own opinion. Last year we bought this for our home and we only had a few roaches and it knocked them right out and within a month we were roach-free. That's why I chose to use the same product, because it had worked for me. I can say with confidence it works on a smaller infestations. This infestation at my Aunts home has been unfazed by this at this point they just don't even eat it when I sprinkle it down.I spoke with a professional gun man and he told me that If you have never used it before it works well the first few times. It should be noted however, German Cockroaches are sneaky little thingsand adapt very quickly. They become immune to whatever bug spray or roach killer you put down. That's why its not phasing them now. These subsequent generations have likely become immune to the product that is inside of this.I still recommend this product but make sure you are using it when you see the first signs of roaches. If you don't get them from the start you could end up chasing them around with a vacuum cleaner and can of some kind of instant kill bug spray. That's where I am at now.
