Awesome build kit, not so great RC car.
This is one of my favorite builds out of many name brand and off brand kits. It looks really good, was fun to build with great instructions, and is actually pretty sturdy with good suspension on all four corners. As an R/C car though, it's not great. The motors are very underpowered and the battery dies after just a couple of minutes. That being said, I'd still absolutely buy it again. Just don't expect to send it off any sweet jumps.

motors the biggest concern
Overall, it's a good set and larger than I expected - the main concern for me is the motors and controllers.I would give this a rating of 3.5, but Amazon only allows 3 and 4, so I chose 3.The first set came with a broken controller. Both sets I ordered seem questionable about syncing with the phone app. The motors system is the biggest problem with the set - the controlling of the motors, and possibly the motors too. I haven't had it long enough to say if the motors themselves are a problem. The directions for the suspension were great. The later directions were harder to follow, and made some decisions which I would have done in a different order (which would have made things much much easier). The roof in particular wasn't fun (NOT the suspension!). And be careful when locking in the battery pack that nothing has slipped away; the battery hangs partly connected for a long time, so when it's finally fully attached, the possibility is that some parts have unclipped. The connector pins attached a little less firmly than I would have liked too, but time will tell if this will be a problem. The suspension is good and includes some metal and carbon-fiber axles due to the stress incurred by it's weight.

Awesome toy
My 14yr old son spent a whole day building it, he really enjoyed the build. Pretty cool car and it was considerably bigger than what I was expecting. Bought beginning of July and as of August still don't have any complaints. He drives it up rock piles and climbs dirt hills and it goes pretty fast. Well worth the money i spent on it. My son loves it!Not sure of the time frame on battery life I haven't really paid attention, but since every wheel has its own motor you can disconnect two of the motors on wheels and make it 2wd so you can extend the life of battery while operating if needed.

Are the motors set up wrong?
Lots of fun to assemble. Very challenging though, even for me as an adult. I built it and then gave it to a co-worker, who gave it to her son, and he loved it.I think the way the controller is designed, it's impossible to set up the motors "properly" so that they spin in sync.
