Works Well
As noted in other reviews, this sharpener is on the coarse side, more so than others like it. But for non knife purists, this gets the job done fast. If desired, honing can be done after the fact. This product would be especially good on a boat where perfection in knives' edges isn't as important as getting them sharp, fast and easy for fish cleaning.

Seems To Work Well
This sharpening steel seems to work well. Since I am inexperienced with knife sharpening, it's hard for me to tell, but my knives do seem to cut better after I've sharpened them with this steel.

Not bad but.....
The product isn’t bad, but what’s unfortunate is that after a few uses, say after sharpening a knife 20 times or more, the middle part, which is the most used, wears out. It seems like the rough part, where the diamond grit is, wears off, and the knives don’t sharpen as well in that area. Too bad!
