I was very pleased with battery and charger, it arrived earlier than I expected, well packaged and worked fine. The battery gives me lots hours of recording and I don't need to keep turning my camera off between shoots. It has lasted me about 1 week of occasion use and I still have 1 hour left. I followed the instruction to fully charge the battery before using and will let it run down to nothing. It is of course bulkier than the regular battery but it is a minor inconvenience to me as it still easily fits in the bag and I don't notice the extra weight or the slight change in the weight distribution. At the price it is must for anyone who wants to use their camera for many hours of shooting between charges.Dave

Much cheaper than a Canon Charger and it works well. Also, it will charge a huge battery, whereas my camcorder will go into time-out mode and stop charging the large batteries after some hours have elapsed..The camcorder thinks something is wrong with these huge batteries but the truth is that it just takes a longer time than allowed for to charge them.

I like this charger because it can be plugged in at home and also come with a car adapter so you can charge your battery pretty much anywhere. Compact size too.

These work nicely, but the actual "holder" for thecannon battery is a "sled" that likes to fall off the charger.. I lost one sled, bought a second charger. The second unit I taped that down.

The wall charger does exactly what it is supposed to do, though it may have caused the demise of a battery or two as well. I can't be entirely certain, but when the same piece breaks down on multiple batteries - third party and Canon alike - it is either user error (and I'm one of many people using this charger) or the device itself.This device remains suspect as the contacts are different than on the XA10 itself, in that there is one less metal connection entirely and the spacing is thus different.The plug adapter and the car charger adapter sound great, but I've yet to have an occasion where I actually needed to use it.

Does the job. These are modular units - a charger base attached to the specific battery module. This is my second purchase (lost the first one). Both worked great. Recommended.

The unit does not charge the Canon 828 battery. When the battery is placed in the charger, even though the connection is very good, the battery never charges.

I know that the brand name is what you pay for with some goods, great to find a product that works well was a reasonable price and shows up the price gouging some companies enroll in.
